What we do
Cadillac Suspension and Shock Absorber Repair
Ride quality goes gradually, so the fault is usually further along than it feels. Everything is checked on the ramp against the other side of the car, which is what makes a worn component obvious.
Read MoreShow Less
Shock Absorber Replacement
Replaced in pairs, because one new damper against one worn one unbalances the axle.
Strut and Top Mount Repair
The bearing and mount that make the knock over speed bumps.
Coil Spring Replacement
Broken and sagging springs, which change ride height and tyre wear.
Control Arm and Bush Replacement
The most common source of vague steering and uneven tyre wear.
Ball Joint and Link Replacement
Play here is a knock first and an alignment problem second.
Air Suspension Repair
Compressors, valve blocks, air struts and the leaks that overwork them.
Adaptive Damper Diagnosis
Electronic dampers tested with GDS2 rather than replaced on suspicion.
Anti-Roll Bar and Bushes
Bar links and mounts, which is where the rattle over rough ground comes from.
Wheel Alignment
Set after the work, since replacing anything in the geometry moves it.
Ride Height Calibration
Reset where the car carries height sensors, so the system reads level correctly.
What we see on these cars
Known Cadillac Suspension Faults We See
Adaptive damping on most of the range and air springs on the large SUVs, which makes a ride complaint an electronic subject as often as a mechanical one.
Magnetic Ride Dampers
The adaptive dampers leak and lose control, usually one corner at a time. They report themselves to GDS2, so the failed corner is identified rather than guessed.
Air Suspension on the Large SUVs
Air springs perish and the compressor overworks trying to hold height. The compressor is a consequence rather than the cause.
Control Arm Bushes
The usual source of vague steering and a knock over expansion joints.
Steering Shaft Clunk
A knock felt through the wheel at low speed from the intermediate shaft. Not a suspension fault, and frequently misdiagnosed as one.
Wheel Bearings on Heavy Cars
A drone that changes with steering load, and it is confirmed on the ramp rather than guessed from the noise.
Alignment After Work
Geometry moves whenever anything in it is replaced, and on a heavy car the tyres pay for it quickly.
How it works
How Cadillac Suspension Work Runs
Four stages, ending with the alignment the work makes necessary.
1. Ramp Inspection
Every joint, bush and damper checked for play, and each side compared with the other.
2. Written Quote
What is worn, what it affects, and what it costs, before anything is ordered.
3. Replacement
Components replaced in pairs where the axle needs it, to the correct torque.
4. Alignment and Road Test
Geometry reset and the car driven, because ride quality is judged on the road.
Why owners pick us
What You Get Back
Ride Quality
The car settles after a bump instead of carrying on moving.
Predictable Steering
Less correction on a straight road and more confidence in a corner.
Longer Tyre Life
Correct geometry is what stops a set wearing out on one edge.
Shorter Stopping Distance
Braking depends on the tyre staying loaded, which is the damper’s job.
Alignment Included
Set after the work rather than sold as a separate visit.
Diagnosed, Not Guessed
Electronic dampers and air systems are tested before anything is replaced.

Warning signs
When a Cadillac Needs Suspension Work
Suspension wear is gradual, which is exactly why it gets left. Eight things worth acting on.
Knocking Over Bumps
A knock from one corner, usually a link, bush or top mount.
Car Sitting Low
One corner lower than the rest, or the whole car down overnight.
Uneven Tyre Wear
Feathering or wear on one edge, which is geometry rather than tyres.
Vague Steering
The car wandering, or needing correction on a straight road.
Bouncing After a Bump
More than one rebound is a damper that has stopped damping.
Leaking Damper
Oil down the body of the shock absorber.
Suspension Warning Light
On an air or adaptive system, a stored fault waiting to be read.
Compressor Running Long
An air compressor working harder than it should is chasing a leak.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do Shock Absorbers Have to Be Replaced in Pairs?
On an axle, yes. A new damper on one side and a worn one on the other gives the car different behaviour left and right, which is worse than two matched worn ones.
Do You Repair Air Suspension or Only Replace It?
Both. A leaking air strut needs replacing, but a compressor working too hard is usually chasing a leak elsewhere, and a valve block or height sensor can often be repaired. We test before quoting.
Is Alignment Included?
Yes. Replacing anything in the geometry moves it, so alignment is set after the work rather than sold separately.
How Long Do Suspension Components Last Here?
Less than in a temperate climate. Heat hardens rubber and the road surface loads it, so bushes and top mounts wear faster in Abu Dhabi than the service schedule assumes.
Can You Diagnose an Adaptive Damper Fault?
Yes, with GDS2. Adaptive dampers report their own faults, and reading them is cheaper than replacing a corner to find out.
The Ride Has Gone Hard and a Warning Appeared
On a car with Magnetic Ride, that is the system defaulting to a fixed setting because it has detected a fault. The dampers are monitored individually, so GDS2 tells us which corner rather than requiring a set of four to be replaced on suspicion.
