A service contract is a prepaid package covering preventive periodic maintenance. For a fixed fee, your scheduled servicing is included, so the cost of keeping the car is known in advance rather than discovered each time.

The two contracts
Basic and Premium Contracts
Both are available for one to three years. The number of services depends on the make, model and mileage: most cars need servicing every 10,000 km or six months, so a one-year contract usually includes three services.
Basic Contract
The scheduled essentials: engine oil and filter change, a 360 degree inspection, air filter cleaning, AC filter cleaning, all fluid top ups, a wheel alignment checkup, a full tyre inspection and a car wash at each service.
Premium Contract
Everything the Basic covers, with the cleaning replaced by replacement and the deeper work added: air and AC filter changes rather than cleaning, differential and transmission oil, filter and gasket changes where required, spark plugs, full wheel alignment, tyre rotation, AC inspection and gas top up, engine flushing, coolant flushing, advanced computer diagnostics and a computer service reset.
