What's included

What the Major Service Covers

A major service is the long interval job. It changes the fluids a minor service does not reach, replaces the parts that wear rather than cleaning them, and ends with the wheels aligned and balanced.

  • 360 Degree Checkup (55 points)

A 55-point inspection over the whole car: fluid levels, tyres, brakes, lights, belts, hoses and the underbody. You get the findings before anything is quoted.

  • Computer Diagnosis Report

Every control module is read and the stored codes are written up for you rather than cleared silently.

  • Engine Oil (fully synthetic)

Drained and refilled with fully synthetic oil in the grade your manufacturer specifies for the engine.

  • Engine Oil Filter (replaced)

A new filter every time the oil is changed, so fresh oil is not pushed straight through a loaded one.

  • Spark Plugs (replaced)

A full set, to the heat range and gap the engine was built for. Worn plugs show up as rough idling and higher fuel use.

  • Air Filter

A new air filter rather than a cleaned one, which is the difference from the minor service.

Show 13 more itemsShow fewer
  • AC Gas

Refrigerant recovered, weighed and recharged to the quantity on the vehicle plate, not topped up by guesswork.

  • Brake Fluid

Replaced and the system bled through. Brake fluid draws in moisture over time, which lowers its boiling point.

  • Steering Fluid Top Up

Checked and topped up to the mark on hydraulic systems.

  • Wiper Fluid Top Up

The washer bottle is filled before the car goes back to you.

  • Engine Bay Cleaning (WD-40)

The bay is cleaned down so fresh leaks are visible on the next visit instead of hiding under old residue.

  • Transmission Oil

Drained and refilled to the transmission maker specification. Abu Dhabi stop-start traffic runs gearbox temperatures high.

  • Transmission Oil Filter

Renewed with the oil, since a clogged filter starves the valve body of pressure.

  • Transmission Oil Pan Gasket

A new pan gasket on refit, rather than reusing one that has already been compressed once.

  • Differential Oil

Changed to the specified grade. Neglected differential oil is a common cause of whine under load.

  • Engine Coolant

Replaced with the correct specification. Coolant loses its corrosion inhibitors long before it stops cooling.

  • Wheel Alignment

Four-wheel alignment set to factory camber, caster and toe. Misalignment wears a tyre out early and pulls the steering.

  • Wheel Balancing

Each wheel balanced on the machine, which takes out the vibration that shows up at highway speed.

  • Body Wash & Vacuum Inside

Washed outside and vacuumed inside before it is handed back.

Why it matters

What the Major Service Protects

Scheduled work is cheaper than the repair it prevents. These are the specific failures the interval is set to avoid.

  • Fluids replaced before they fail quietly

Brake fluid absorbs moisture and drops its boiling point. Coolant loses its corrosion inhibitors. Neither shows a symptom until it matters.

  • A gearbox that is not running on old oil

Transmission oil, its filter and the pan gasket together. Heat in stop-start traffic breaks the oil down long before the gearbox starts slipping.

  • The differential kept quiet

Differential oil is the one most often skipped, and whine under load is what it sounds like when it has been.

  • Ignition back to specification

A new set of plugs at the right heat range and gap restores the idle quality and the fuel figure you had when the car was new.

  • Faults read, not guessed

The computer diagnosis report lists what every module has stored, printed for you rather than cleared without a word.

  • Tyres that wear evenly

Alignment and balancing at the end of the service is what stops a new set of tyres wearing out on one shoulder.

When it is due

When to Book a Major Service

  • The interval

Every 20,000 to 40,000 km or every two years, whichever comes first. Transmission and differential intervals vary by model, so check your own schedule.

  • How long it takes

Usually a full day. The transmission and differential oils need the car raised and the fluids at the right operating temperature.

  • If you are not sure

Send the mileage and the date of your last service. An advisor will tell you which of the two is due, rather than selling you the larger one.

How it works

From Booking to Keys Back, in Four Steps

No surprises on price and no work you did not approve.

  1. 1

    Tell us the car

Send the make, model and mileage through the form, WhatsApp or a call. Free pickup and drop off is arranged by driver from anywhere in Abu Dhabi for vehicles on a service contract.

  2. 2

    We confirm what is due

An advisor checks the interval against your mileage and last service, and confirms whether the minor or the major is the one you need.

  3. 3

    You approve the scope

You get the major service price, plus anything the 55-point check turns up, before a spanner is picked up. Nothing extra starts until you say yes.

  4. 4

    Service and return

The work is carried out, the findings are written up, and the car comes back washed and vacuumed.

FAQs About Major Service in Abu Dhabi

What is a major car service?

The long interval service. It covers everything a minor service does, then adds the transmission oil, filter and pan gasket, the differential oil, engine coolant, brake fluid, AC gas, spark plugs, a computer diagnosis report, and wheel alignment and balancing. Nineteen items in total.

What does a major car service include?

Nineteen items: the 55-point checkup, a computer diagnosis report, fully synthetic engine oil and filter, spark plugs, a new air filter, AC gas, brake fluid, steering and wiper fluid, engine bay cleaning, transmission oil with its filter and pan gasket, differential oil, engine coolant, wheel alignment, wheel balancing, and a body wash with an interior vacuum. Each one is listed on this page.

Is a major service necessary if the car runs fine?

Yes. Most of what it changes fails quietly rather than obviously. Brake fluid absorbs moisture and loses boiling point, coolant loses its corrosion inhibitors, and transmission oil breaks down under heat long before the gearbox starts to slip. By the time the symptom shows, the repair costs more than the service.

How often should I book a major service?

Typically every 20,000 to 40,000 km or every two years, whichever comes first. The interval varies by model, particularly for the transmission and differential, so it is worth checking your own schedule.

How long does a major car service take?

Usually a full day. The transmission and differential oils need the car raised and the fluids at the right temperature, and the alignment is done at the end.

What is the difference between a minor and a major service?

A minor service covers engine oil, the oil filter, an air filter clean and the 55-point check. A major service adds fourteen further items and replaces the air filter rather than cleaning it. The table on this page sets the two side by side.
