How it works
Our Flooded Car Repair Process
Five stages, performed in sequence, because doing them out of order is what causes secondary damage.
1. Water Extraction and Drying
Standing water is removed from cabin, trunk and engine bay on arrival. Carpets, foam and seat bases come out to expose hidden moisture, then the car spends a minimum of 72 hours in a controlled dehumidification environment. Mould begins within 24 to 48 hours in Abu Dhabi humidity.
2. Electrical System Repair
Every circuit is scanned with factory-level tools. Harness, fuse boxes, body control modules and ECUs are tested for moisture, oxidation and shorts. Damaged units are cleaned ultrasonically or replaced with OEM parts, and ABS, airbags and traction control are verified before the car moves on.
3. Engine and Transmission
The engine is checked for hydrolock by removing the spark plugs before any cranking attempt. Transmission fluid is tested for emulsification. Engine oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid and coolant are drained and replaced, and pistons, rods and cylinder walls inspected for damage.
4. Interior Restoration
All surfaces are sanitised with anti-bacterial and anti-fungal treatment. Leather is cleaned and conditioned with brand-appropriate products, ozone generators treat every vent and enclosed space, and dashboard electronics are individually tested.
5. Final Quality Check
A full diagnostic scan confirms zero active fault codes, a road test of at least 15 kilometres verifies engine, transmission, brakes and suspension, and a final underbody inspection confirms the anti-corrosion coating and no residual moisture.

What to Do Immediately After Your Car Is Flooded
Five steps, in this order. They are what reduces the risk of a total loss.
1. Do Not Start the Car
Starting a flooded car causes hydrolock. Water does not compress, so the pistons cannot complete their stroke, which bends connecting rods, cracks cylinder walls and destroys the block.
2. Disconnect the Battery
Removing the negative terminal with a 10mm wrench stops active short circuits spreading to the ECU, body control modules and wiring harness. This step alone prevents cascading electrical failure.
3. Record the Damage
Photograph the exterior waterline, interior flood level, engine bay and all visible damage before any water is removed. UAE insurance claims require this, plus a "To Whom It May Concern" certificate from Abu Dhabi Police.
4. Ventilate, Do Not Heat
Open all doors and windows and take the mats out to dry. Never use a heat gun or hairdryer: heat warps dashboard plastics and damages electronics.
5. Call a Professional

How Soon Should I Bring My Flooded Car In?
Within 6 to 12 hours of the flooding for the best outcome. Mould growth begins within 24 to 48 hours and ECU corrosion accelerates after that. Vehicles brought in after 72 hours show significantly higher rates of permanent electrical damage and interior degradation.
Is It Safe to Start a Flooded Car?
No. Water in the combustion chambers causes hydrolock, which bends connecting rods and destroys the engine block in a single crank. Modern luxury cars also carry high-voltage systems, so connecting circuits while water is present risks shorts across the harness, ECUs and body control units.
What Parts of My Car Will Be Inspected and Repaired?

A claim needs three documents: a "To Whom It May Concern" certificate from Abu Dhabi Police, photographic evidence, and a professional repair assessment. Can I Protect My Car from Future Flood Damage?
Four things help: avoid basement parking during heavy rain warnings, move the car to elevated parking before a forecast storm, never drive through water deeper than 15 centimetres, and make sure comprehensive cover is active before the rainy season. Water at 15cm reaches most door sills; at 30cm it reaches the air intake on a low car, which is a direct hydrolock risk.
